Shawn Allen is the COO at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Shawn handles all operations within the company. He strives to develop strong relationships with supervisors and employees to assess each office’s cohesion and health. When he isn’t working, Shawn enjoys the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He also loves to travel and see new places. Shawn has a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and has been a pastor for the last 23 years. Shane Garland is the owner/partner of Second Mile Behavioral Health. Shane loves being able to serve and help the people in his community that need it the most. Michelle Smith is the owner and CEO of Second Mile Behavioral Health also known as “Boss Lady.” Michelle loves being able to lead an AMAZING group of people in service to those in need. When Michelle isn’t working, she enjoys being at home with her family and her dogs, as well as watching her son play baseball. She loves to shop, enjoys reading and is a huge fan of Yellowstone! Her favorite quote is “A dreamer, that’s what she was. “

ADMINISTRATION

Anita Kiser is the Referral Coordinator for Second Mile Behavioral Health as well as a community support associate. Anita loves working with the community and making a difference in the lives of her clients. When she isn’t working, Anita enjoys spending time with her family and friends, loves her fur babies and believes that one of the best parts of life is her grand babies. Nurse Practitioner Medical Assistant

Terry Nelson is a therapist at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Terry see’s children in office as well as at the McDaniel Learning Center.

Morgan Lakes is a Therapist with Second Mile Behavioral Health. Tara Anderson is a Therapist at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Tara enjoys being able to help her client’s and watching them succeed at their goals. When she isn’t working, Tara enjoys going to the water park with her children, going to the beach as often as possible and watching her kids participate in extracurricular activities. Savannah Williford is a therapist with Second Mile Behavioral Health. Savannah has experience working with multiple mental health issues including depression, anxiety, grief, crisis and trauma. Savannah loves that at second mile she has the opportunity to offer faith-based counseling as well.

Veronica Huddle is a therapist with Second Mile Behavioral Health. Veronica see’s clients in office as well as at Bush Elementary School. Veronica has experience working with multiple mental health issues including depression, anxiety, grief, crisis and trauma. When she isn’t working, Veronica enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family. She enjoys traveling, crafting and baking. Brittany Bowling is a therapist for Second Mile Behavioral Health. Brittany sees clients in office as well as at Keavy Elementary School. Brittany loves what she does and loves seeing her client’s progress form the beginning of the therapeutic process to the end. When Brittany isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son traveling the United States. Debra Smith is a therapist for Second Mile Behavioral Health and provides services in office as well as Laurel County Day Treatment. Debra specializes in working with teens as well as women and children that have experienced domestic violence. Debra loves to help people process and heal from the trauma they have experienced. When she isn’t working Debra enjoys spending time with her children and family and loves to read and shop. Debra’s favorite quote is “Sometimes we grow up to be the people that we needed as children.”

Cynthia Money is a Therapist at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Cynthia loves helping others find their voice, overcome obstacles, and realize their worth. She loves seeing the growth as the clients discover their passion and embrace change. When she isn’t working, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family and reading. Candace Harris is a Therapist at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Candace works with clients at Colony and London Elementary. She enjoys working with children and their families, helping them reach their goals and overcome obstacles in their life. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her fiancée and her family, and her 2 dogs. Candace loves going to concerts, amusements parks, and going riding on the RZR. Melody Ibsen is a targeted case manager at Second Mile Behavioral Health. She enjoys helping her clients find the way to making a better life. When Melody isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and volunteering with the Marching band. Meg Keyton is a Targeted Case Manager at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Meg considers herself a mentor an liaison for the children and families that she works with. Mary Perry is a Targeted Case Manager at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Mary loves being able to link clients to the resources that they need to help them succeed. When she isn’t working, Mary enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Her favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord,” Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Lindsay Abner is a Targeted Case Manager at Second Mile Behavioral Health. She loves being able to advocate for her clients and having the opportunity to help her clients reach their goals. When she isn’t working, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her cat, family and friends and being outside. Her favorite quote is “Be the reason someone believes in good people.”

Targeted Case Managers

Michelle McKeehan is a Targeted Case Manager and Community support specialist at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Michelle enjoys working with clients and families to instill hope and help them to reach their goals. When she isn’t working Michelle enjoys spending time at sporting events with her college students and is a breeder of golden retrievers. Hollie Freeman is a Targeted Case Manager at Second Mile Behavioral Health. Hollie loves being able to be a resource to the community for those who seek to better their quality of life. When she isn’t working, Hollie enjoys traveling, spending time with family and playing fetch with her Great Dane, Suede Rhinestone. Hollie’s favorite quote is the man in the Arena, penned by President Theodore Roosevelt, it’s a reminder that as long as we continue to strive and work hard, no matter the outcome and no matter the opinion of our critics we can say we gave it our best.
